Wilbur Francis Reed Jr., a resident of Ville Platte, Louisiana, was arrested on March 2, 2026, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office. Authorities reported that during the arrest, they found 0.63 grams of suspected cocaine, 0.78 grams of suspected marijuana, and $822 in U.S. currency.

Reed faces several charges including possession of schedule two narcotics (cocaine), possession of a firearm while in the presence of controlled dangerous substances, and transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses. He also received a misdemeanor summons for suspected marijuana and a traffic citation related to a modified exhaust.

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office continues to encourage members of the public to report any information regarding criminal activity. Sheriff Charles R. Guillory stated that individuals can contact their Investigation Department by phone at 337-363-2161 or through the agency’s website at www.evangelineparishsheriff.org. According to the sheriff’s office, “Any person/s reporting information will remain anonymous.” The statement also emphasized that all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
