Iberia Parish Library recently issued the following announcement.

Registered pet therapy dog, Joy Belle, will be at the library to provide children with an opportunity to read aloud. Joy Belle will sit calmly and quietly for a story, creating a relaxing atmosphere for the child to read one-on-one with her. This gives the child an opportunity to practice their reading skills without fear or judgment. The adults do not correct the child’s reading. Parents may sit quietly in the room with their child or take this moment to find a book and read just outside the program area.
You can wear your pajamas, bring a pillow, or blanket and read to Joy Belle in a stress-free environment!
