Paul P. Vidrine, a resident of Ville Platte, Louisiana, was arrested following a traffic stop that led to the discovery of various controlled substances and cash suspected to be related to narcotics transactions.
During the search, law enforcement found two blue oval pills marked Y20, identified as Alprazolam 1mg (a Schedule IV controlled substance), one white round pill marked RP 10 325, identified as Acetaminophen and Oxycodone Hydrochloride 325 mg/10mg (Schedule II), and two white round pills marked 54 24, identified as Methadone Hydrochloride (Schedule II). Authorities also located $2,363 in cash in different denominations. The amount and distribution of the currency were described as consistent with narcotic transactions. An open alcoholic beverage was visible in the vehicle’s center console.
As a result of these findings, Vidrine was arrested and charged with several offenses: possession of methamphetamine (Schedule II), possession of oxycodone (Schedule II), possession of methadone (Schedule II), possession of alprazolam (Schedule IV), and engaging in transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses.
Vidrine also received a citation for traffic violations including improper lane usage, having an opened container in the vehicle, and use of an electronic device while driving. His vehicle was subsequently towed by R&T Towing Service.
