There were 840 ninth grade students enrolled in St. Landry Parish schools in the 2021-22 school year, 12.3% less than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Beau Chene High School welcomed the most ninth grade students in the parish.

Within St. Landry Parish schools, the most students were found in seventh grade classes, while 11th grade classes were the smallest.

Statewide, St. Landry Parish ranked 16th highest in enrollment numbers. It was ranked 17th highest the year before.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.
