424 students were enrolled for 9th grade in Evangeline Parish schools in 2021-22 school year

There were 424 ninth grade students enrolled in Evangeline Parish schools in the 2021-22 school year, 2.2% more than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Ville Platte High School welcomed the most ninth grade students in the parish.

Within Evangeline Parish schools, the most students were found in third grade classes, while 12th grade classes were the smallest.

Statewide, Evangeline Parish ranked 29th highest in enrollment numbers. It was ranked 31st lowest the year before.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.
