There were 27 American Indian students enrolled in Iberia Parish School District schools in the 2021-22 school year, 35% more than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Data showed that Iberia Parish School District welcomed 11,390 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.2% of the student body to be the second least represented ethnicity in the district.

Iberia Parish School District roughly covers schools within Iberia Parish and has a main office in New Iberia.

Among the 27 schools in Iberia Parish School District, Center Street Elementary School, New Iberia Senior High School, North Lewis Elementary School, Delcambre Elementary School, and Iberia Middle School recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of three students.

The majority of Louisiana students were identified as white and Black, representing 48% and 37% of the state student body respectively during the 2021–22 academic year. Hispanic students made up 8.6% of the student body, and other ethnic minorities made up 5.6%.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.
