There were 467 Hispanic or Latino students enrolled in St. Landry Parish's school district in the 2021-22 school year, 15.6% more than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Data showed that St. Landry Parish's school district welcomed 12,240 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, Hispanic or Latino students comprised 3.8% of the student body to be the third most represented ethnicity in the parish districts.

There is only one district within St. Landry Parish, with its head office located in Opelousas.

The majority of Louisiana students were identified as white and Black, representing 48% and 37% of the state student body respectively during the 2021–22 academic year. Hispanic students made up 8.6% of the student body, and other ethnic minorities made up 5.6%.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.
